WINCHESTER City have announced the departure of ex-Eastleigh striker Sam Wilson.
Writing on the club’s official messageboard this evening, director of football Dave Malone said: “With some regret we have to announce that Sam Wilson has decided to leave Winchester City FC.
“Sam wishes to play regular first-team football, preferably at a higher level than the Wessex League.
“Obviously we would have preferred Sam to stay with us. However, we understand and respect his desire to further his career.
“We thank him for his valued contribution and wish him well for the future.”
Wilson has made four starts and three sub appearances for City in the Sydenhams League this season, scoring six goals. Four of them came in the 7-0 drubbing of Bournemouth Poppies on the opening day of the campaign.
