THE results are in on a survey supporting Bishop’s Waltham’s application to become Great British High Street of the Year.
Almost 300 residents responded to the survey which could help the town win £50,000 and a raft of publicity from the national competition.
Ninety-five per cent said the variety of shops was ‘good’ or ‘very good’ and 86 per cent said the aesthetics of the street were among its most positive aspects.
Over 90 per cent of respondents noticed an increase in events over the past 18 months and 72 per cent took part themselves, but 20 per cent said the leisure and cultural activities in the town were poor.
The survey results will form an integral part of Bishop’s Waltham Town Team’s application in the market town category.
