FIREFIGHTERS were called out when some pasta had been left on an oven for too long.

Five firefighters from Winchester attended the scene at a house of multiple occupancy on Romsey Road, at around 8.50pm last night, when a man’s cooking caught fire.

No one was injured in the blaze.

Watch manager Kevin Robson said: “The chap was a bit flustered but was fine. He set off the alarm and everyone got out of the building ok. We just used a fan to clear the smoke and left them to their evening.”
