A STAR of the future is one step closer to her dream after an evening of song and dance raised funds for her university studies.
Imogen Johnson organised a cabaret performance of classic Broadway songs at Barton Peveril College to fund her foundation musical theatre course at Guildford School of Acting.
She was joined on stage by members of Centrestage Productions Youth Theatre for the evening of high-energy entertainment, dazzling the audience with hits from Les Miserables, Rent and Guys and Dolls.
The 19-year-old said the evening raised more than £1,000 towards her course.
She said: “It was a really successful evening.
“Everyone seemed to have a really good time and there were about 120 people in the audience.
“I’d like to thank Barton Peveril College for letting me use their hall for the night.
“I’d also like to thank my mum, dad, and boyfriend for helping me out on the night at front of house.”
