AN AFTERNOON of champagne and strawberry cream tea will be held in Shawford next week.
On Sunday, August 10, Laurel Cottage opens its garden gate for a special event in aid of Canine Partners – a charity which provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.
There will be an arrival glass of bubbly, followed by scones and clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a range of homemade cakes.
Organiser Ali Bailey said: “This event is a wonderful afternoon out for those who enjoy taking tea in a quintessentially British setting. There will be plenty of opportunities to find out more about the work of Canine Partners, meet people whose lives have changed thanks to having a canine partner and see some of our puppies in training! We will also have a raffle and homemade produce stall.”
Tickets must be bought in advance, at a cost of £12 per adult and £10 for children under 12, from Ms Bailey. Call 02380 270506 or email armsbailey2010@gmail.com.
