AFTER six months of careful preparation Micheldever villagers celebrated their summer fete on Saturday (July 19).
Held at the Lord Rank Playing Field, the fete was traditional with a dog show, plant sale, tug of war, coconut shy, bouncy castle and splat the rat.
Sarah Witten, one of the organisers, said: “It was a good fete. We were worried about the weather but it held out all afternoon which was great. A good day had by all I think.”
Last year’s fete raised £8,000 for St Mary’s Church, and Ms Witten said they are hoping to beat that. The total is yet to be announced.
