POLICE are investigating after a mobile phone was stolen from a house in a village near Alresford.

The owner nipped out to his garage on Vicarage Lane in Ropley at around 1pm on Wednesday, July 16 leaving the front door open and his Nokia phone was stolen.

The police are warning householders against leaving their homes insecure in the recent hot weather.
