AGE UK Winchester has teamed up with Hampshire Fare to organise an evening of local food and drink near Alresford.

The event on Friday (July 11) is a fundraiser for the local charity and provides the opportunity to find out more about Hampshire produce, taste it and buy some. It is part of this year's Hampshire Fare Food Festival.

The venue, Pinglestone Barn is being provided by the charity’s patron, Lady Alison Wakeham and Lord John Wakeham.

Some 16 local producers will be on hand, offering the chance to taste a wide range of food, wine and beer all from Hampshire.

Lady Wakeham said: “I hope people will come along to find out about the wonderful food and drink that is produced right on our door steps. At the same time, they will be helping a local charity that now supports around 800 older residents each year, helping them retain their independence and enjoy later life.”

The producers will be donating 10 per cent of their sales on the evening to the charity.

The gates open at 6pm and the event closes at 8.30pm.

Admission is £10 (children free) and includes a glass of Hattingley Valley fizz, produced just a few miles from Alresford.

Tickets are available on the door and there is ample free parking next to the barn. The postcode for the barn is SO24 9TB.
