Two youths arrested for mugging in Bishop's Waltham

First published in News

POLICE are seeking witnesses to the mugging of a teenager in Bishop's Waltham.

A 14-year-old boy was punched in the head by two people on bikes who stole his white Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. He was left with bruising and cuts to his forehead, police said today.

The robbery happened at the Shore Lane junction with Little Shore Lane just before 2.30pm on Saturday, May 24.

DC Steve Brown, at Winchester Police Station, said: “We believe a number of people were walking in the Shore Lane area at the time and other people may have come out of their houses.

“I’m especially keen to hear from people leaving Jubilee community hall at the time. I’d therefore appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us”.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Brown on 101.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old youth from Portsmouth have been charged and remanded in relation to this incident. They are next due to appear at Fareham Youth Court on July 11.

They cannot be named for legal reasons.
