A CHARITY that gives people emotional support has raised over £1,000 from a street collection.
The Samaritans took to the streets of Winchester last Saturday (May 17), with 50 volunteers in total.
They raised £1,142.82, and have thanked all those who donated.
A spokesperson said: “A very big thank you for your generosity on a lovely sunny day in the city. We will use these funds to help callers, whether face to face at our centre at 13 Upper High Street, by text, email or telephone.
“The funds we raised through your donations on Saturday are essential for us to continue to provide the Samaritan service here in Winchester.”
