A WINCHESTER mum could be going MAD this year.

Grace Hall, 32, from Abbotts Barton, has reached the finals of the fifth annual Mum and Dad (MAD) Blog Awards.

The awards celebrate the UK’s parent blogging community and organisers say blogging is a great way to ‘capture family memories and make new friends.’ Grace’s blog, Eats Amazing, is one of five finalists up for the Best Food Blog award.

More than 200,000 nominations were submitted in the awards this year, with 59 blogs reaching the finals across 15 categories.

Grace, mother to a six-year-old son, started writing her blog in 2012 as a way to share ideas about healthy, fun food for children, championing the bento-style lunch boxes commonly found in Japan.

She said: “I am amazed and absolutely delighted to have reached the finals.

“Being a finalist in these awards really means the world to me, it is so wonderful to have the recognition and it makes all the hard work I put into the blog seem even more worthwhile.”

Grace will find out if her blog is a winner in September, at a red carpet award ceremony in London.

For the next month, readers can vote for her blog at www.the-mads.com.
