COUNCILLORS have approved development of four new homes on Lankhills Road in Winchester despite local objections.
The Rooksacre site, near Osborne School, will see the existing building demolished and the site redeveloped to include parking, cycle and refuse storage.
Winchester City Council received seven letters objecting the plans, saying the building would be out of character, intrusive, and oppressive to the current housing.
The Winchester City Council planning committee meeting (April 3) also heard resident’s concerns about the junction between Worthy Road and Lankhills Road, inadequate off road parking, construction impacts and loss of privacy.
Planning was twice refused in February last year for four five-bedroom homes on the site, and then for three five-bedroom homes and four two-bedroom homes.
Despite a split vote, the move was approved.
