A WOMAN from Alresford has gone the extra mile for charity and taken her dog along with her as part of this year’s Sports Relief promotion.
Marie Hamlin, from Petersfield Road in Bramdean, is due to appear on BBC 2 tonight (March 12) with her little dog Blaze taking part in the BBC Sports Relief Top Dog competition.
The two were paired up with TV presenter Matthew Wright.
Marie, 27, said: “It meant so much being selected to be on the show and being part of such an amazing charity as Sports Relief.
“Blaze has played a very important part in my life and helped me through some awful tough times so to have the opportunity to show him off to the nation was just absolutely fantastic. I was so nervous but the BBC crew were brilliant and everyone loved Blaze. Blaze also loved the attention and the cameras too!
“To share the experience with such a special friend for an amazing cause was incredible and a day I will never forget.”
