WINCHESTER Police have today issued an efit following an assault in which a man suffered a broken jaw.
A 22-year-old man was walking home after a night out with two female friends when a man began to follow them from Sparkford Road.
The incident occurred at around 1.30am on Saturday, February 16 on Airlie Road. The victim was punched and kicked and suffered a broken jaw that needed surgery.
The suspect is described as: white, 22-23, five feet 11 inches tall, medium build, short blond or brown hair, clean shaven. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket, dark coloured smart trousers and dark footwear with black soles.
PC Darryl Clarke from Winchester CID said: “The victim had spent the evening at the student union on Sparkford Street prior to this unprovoked assault.
“The student union was busy on this evening due to the Winton Weekend where former students who were in sports teams return to play the current sports teams.
“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who thinks they may recognise the man from the efit image.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Clarke by calling 101. Alternatively you can call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
