Winchester theatre to host auditions for play based in New York
THE CHESIL Theatre is to host a play written by one of the most well-known playwrights of the twentieth century.
Arthur Miller’s The Price, written in 1968, tells the tale of two brothers in their fifties who come together to clear their late father’s home in New York after not speaking to each other in over 16 years.
Director, Tom Williams, said: “In The Price, Miller grabs the audience right from the beginning, building the suspense towards a crescendo. Yet he manages to punctuate the tension through the wit and wisdom of the elderly Russian/Jewish antique dealer. There are excellent roles for three older male actors and one actress who plays the wife of one of the brothers. Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend the reading and auditions.”
The reading will take place at the Chesil Theatre on Friday, March 7, at 7.45pm, with auditions on Sunday and Monday, March 9-10, at 7.45pm.
Performances will be held May 10–17. More details can be found at chesiltheatre.org.uk.
