A WINCHESTER charity that helps people considering suicide has been given a cash boost.
The Samaritans, who are based on Upper High Street, received £1,000 from Winchester Round Table for help towards the cost of publicity leaflets and a new laptop.
Matt Russell, community services chairman for the Round Table, said: “Winchester Round Table are pleased to support Winchester Samaritans with a donation of £1,000 towards the purchase of a new laptop and leaflets for publicity purposes.
“With annual costs of £40,000 to run the service, Winchester Round Table are happy to support this fantastic local service that support vulnerable individuals.
“We’re able to help other charities in need of financial support from the money raised at the annual bonfire of which we organise. Every year we receive many applications and we agreed to support this particular application.”
