RESIDENTS are being encouraged to do their bit and recycle over the festive period with a little help from the county council.
As part of a new drive the council has released information about recyclables making it easier for people to work out what can be discarded.
Seasonal items including biscuit and sweet tins, delivery boxes, cards and envelopes can all be recycled.
Moulded plastic packaging and wrapping paper cannot as it contains too much foil.
Cllr Leslie Keeble said: “Christmas is always a busy time of the year but we are trying to remind people of a couple of extra items they can pop in their recycling bin.
“Everything seems to come in its own special packaging, so if your own recycling bin starts to overflow don’t forget you can also recycle lots of items at your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or recycling bank for glass bottles and other materials.”
