WORLD Cup winner and former Saints star Alan Ball was a football legend who brought joy to millions of fans.

As the youngest member of a side which gave English sport its finest hour, the nation took him to their hearts.

Now his 10-year-old grandson, Jimmy Allan, is making his mark on the world.

The Chandler’s Ford youngster is to star in a video as part of anti-bullying week.

Jimmy’s mum, Keely, said Alan would have been thrilled.

“Dad would have been so proud. Hopefully my mum and dad will be watching over him somewhere,” she said.

The budding actor had to audition in London and saw off competition from 1,000 other hopefuls.

He plays Harry, the lead role in i Future My Future, and said his favourite part was when the bullies threw the camera in the toilet and he had to reach in and get it! But like his granddad, he’s also no slouch on the pitch – the Hiltingbury School pupil plays for Eastleigh and trains with the Matt Le Tissier academy.

Jimmy said: “Whether I prefer acting or football is one of the hardest questions anyone could ask. I think I like them both, but I do more acting because I have been to lots of auditions.

“I’m really looking forward to the film coming out.”

There is also a leading role for Swanmore Primary School girl, Honey-Mae Harper.

The nine-year old plays Mia, who changes her ways and comes to Harry’s aid in the fight against bullying.

She said: “I’m really excited about the film coming out. I kind of feel good about it because I’m going to teach other people not to bully people.”

The film will be screened in classrooms nationwide from Monday (NOV 18).
