WINCHESTER tots are taking part in singing and dancing lessons in a brand new method of teaching.

Moo Music, aimed at children from as young as a few months to five years old, teaches specially-composed songs and matching choreography to stimulate the minds of younger children with farm animal characters.

The all-singing all-dancing moo-sical sessions in Hursley, Kings Worthy and Winchester include over 100 songs, dancing and games.

Class leader Ali Hider said she is thrilled that Moo Music has taken off so quickly.

“We’ve had such a fantastic response to the classes and it’s wonderful to see the children, and their mums, dads, nannies and grandparents, having such fun.

“Even the quietest children have been singing and dancing after a week or two. Sharing music is such a great way to boost confidence.”

Moo Music features four original characters, Maggie Moo, Ollie Oink, Henry Horse and Doris Duck, each with their own songs as written by well-known children’s songwriter Craig McLeish.

Mr McLeish is known for his work on West End shows such as Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.

Samantha Mitchell said her three-year-old daughter Georgia has enjoyed the classes.

“It’s something we look forward to all week,” she said. “The classes are creative, stimulating and, above all, enormous fun.”

“Music is very important to children’s development,” said Ali.

“Each class is cleverly designed to develop vital language, memory and co-ordination skills while the little ones have a whale of a time.”
