A day to remember as dozens begin military career in Winchester
9:46am Monday 30th September 2013 in News
IT was a day to remember for 48 proud young men and women as they began their military careers on Friday.
And among those passing out at the Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester, was Jade Beharry, the brother of Victorian Cross recipient, Sergeant Johnson Beharry.
In 2005, Sgt Beharry, a member of the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment, was awarded the highest possible military decoration for valour after saving his comrades from ambushes whilst serving in Iraq.
His brother Jade will not follow him into the infantry though, as he will now start life as a soldier in the Royal Logistic Corps.
