Suspended jail sentence for man who twice attacked woman in Winchester

A MAN who twice attacked a woman and destroyed her clothes in Winchester has received a suspended jail sentence.
Lyndon Simmons, 24, now of Old Kempshott Lane, Basingstoke, admitted two assaults on Helen Pilling last February, one at St Swithun’s School and the other at a house in Longfield Road, Winnall.
He also pleaded guilty to destroying clothing of value unknown belonging to Ms Pilling.
Magistrates at Basingstoke last Friday jailed him for 16 weeks suspended for 18 months and ordered he pay £500 compensation for the clothing, an £80 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
