WINCHESTER firefighters have been making a splash for charity.
Firefighters up and down the country are prepare to roll up their sleeves to take part in the National Car Wash on Saturday, with money raised going to the The Fire Fighters Charity.
Winchester Fire Station will be getting the sponges and soap suds out from 10am until 4pm at their station in Winnall.
Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to the charity.
Area Manager Andy Bowers, of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "As well as being a fun and popular event for the charity, the National Car Wash also gives our firefighters the opportunity to share important safety messages with members of their local community."
Firmly established on the fire and rescue service calendar, the National Car Wash is the charity's largest national fundraising event of the year.
