A MAN escaped serious injury when his car left the road and hit a lamppost in Romsey yesterday evening.
A police spokesman said the man told them that he lost control of his car after being blinded by sunlight.
Police say the 37-year-old from North Baddesley was driving a Ford Focus along Botley Road near Romsey Cemetery when the accident happened on Tuesday evening.
The road was blocked for a time whil police removed the badly damaged car.
The man did not require hospital treatment say the police.
