Major improvements to one of Winchester's busiest roads are postponed
MAJOR works to reduce congestion on one of Winchester's busiest roads have been postponed.
The Highways Agency was due to start changes in late August to Easton Lane at the Winnall roundabout junctions with the A34 and M3, a popular commuter route.
But now the works have been put back to mid-to-late September, according to the agency.
The scheme involves widening the road to create three lanes in Easton Lane as well as the eastern side of the roundabout and on the southern bridge.
New traffic signals and stop lines will also be installed to calm traffic. The works will cost around £500,000 and are due to be completed by October.
