THE Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester are hosting a giant cake sale later this month.
Cllr Ernie Jeffs and wife Barbara invite residents to the Cathedral Close on Saturday, July 27, from 10am to 4pm in aid of the Mayor’s Charities, which this year are Hounds for Heroes, Network Scouts and Countess Mountbatten Hospice.
Some funds will also go into a community pot to be divided between several groups including Home Start, Age UK, Trinity Winchester and several Alresford organisations.
Mrs Jeffs said: “We are hoping this is a great success so that it may get taken on as an annual event by the Women’s Royal British Legion.”
Residents are encouraged to bake and bring along their own cakes while pets and picnics are welcome.
The event is supported by Winchester Cathedral and Barclays Bank.
