A HAMPSHIRE school has kick-started its fundraising appeal by presenting a charity with a cheque for £100.

Swanmore College’s Year 7 pupils have chosen to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and on Monday, February 11, a representative from the charity came in to talk to pupils about the work they do.

The trust is currently building a new 10-bed ward at Southampton General Hospital to be opened later this year.

All monies raised at Swanmore will go directly to the hospital, with the £100 cheque the result of their Technology Christmas Fair.

At the end of the fair, all products were put on display and parents and members of public were invited to buy anything that caught their eye.
