AN Alresford woman was killed in a crash on a Hampshire road in which another driver also lost his life.
There were two vehicles involved and both drivers - a 35-year-old woman and 65-year-old man - were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were called at 6.44am on Monday, January 28, when a silver Renault Clio driven by the woman, and a green Ford Mondeo, driven by the man from Somerset, collided on Twinley Lane in Whitchurch.
Police closed the road from its junction with Old Newbury Road and the B3051 until 11am, while the vehicles were recovered and collision investigators examined the scene.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw either vehicle shortly before it, to contact Hampshire police on 101, quoting Operation Mellphone.
The inquest into the death of one of the drivers will be opened tomorrow morning in Basingstoke.
