IT’S a wonderful glimpse into the history of Winchester.
A model of 1870s Winchester went on display in the Great Hall on Monday (Jan 21), revealing the city’s Victorian make-up down to the tiniest details.
The 15ft model has been on display in the city several times, including at the Great Hall and Intech science centre in Morn Hill.
Built in 1996 by retired planner Roger Brown, the model is on show until February 16.
The model is currently kept by the county council museums’ service and Mr Brown was worried it would lose its home once the exhibition ended.
But the council confirmed last week it would continue to look after the model.
