CARELESS parking in Bishop’s Waltham is putting children in danger, a parish council meeting has heard.
Resident Neil Cornmell is so concerned that he has pleaded with the council to do something, calling them his “last chance”.
At the meeting on January 15, Mr Cornmell, of Pine Road, said: “It’s very dangerous. I called the police and they said they would come down and check the situation and call me, but they did neither. You’re my last chance. I really think there’s going to be an accident. Someone is going to get hurt,” he said.
Mr Cornmell said that four and five-year old children are being led around parked cars and into the road in the mornings. Of particular concern is a stretch of road from the Police Station on Hoe Road leading toward Bishop’s Waltham Infant School.
Parish chairman Judy Marsh said she was aware of the issue. “I know what you’re saying and we will do whatever we can,” she said.
Cllr Pat Wilson said: “It’s a shame because we normally a have a representative from the police here and I know they would have liked to have heard about this.”
