THE trial of an alleged arsonist who struck three fires with intent to endanger life in Winchester city centre is due to be held on June 24, a court heard today.
Sean Clements, 47, of no fixed abode, is alleged to have started fires at the Deanery, Phase Eight boutique and in the goods yard behind Parklife Kids on Upper Brook Street.
He is also charged with arson of rubbish bins near the Buttercross.
Clements is also charged with three offences of threatening behaviour, two of which were racially aggravated, and one assault causing actual bodily harm against Edward Davies.
He was remanded in custody to return to Winchester Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on March 26. The trial is expected to last five days.
