NAOMI House is gearing up for its major annual fundraiser.

The Sutton Scotney hospice is launching the 2013 Clarendon Way Walk at Winchester Cathedral from 2pm on Thursday, (Jan 10) with people are invited to sign up on the day.

With a turn-out of 1,000 last year, the walk, sponsored by trade union GMB, is a fun day out with participants encouraged to make the most of the occasion and dress up for sponsor money.

The route takes walkers 26 miles through the countryside between Winchester and Salisbury cathedrals, although an alternative 13-mile route to Salisbury from Broughton is available.

The hospice needs approximately £7 million each year to provide vital services for free such as respite, end of life, hospice at home and bereavement care to children, young adults and their families across the South.

It will be held on June 2 and Naomi House staff are aiming to beat last year’s figure of £100,000.
