TWO Botley men have been fined after being caught poaching near Winchester.
Mark Gardner and Edward Goddard were caught trespassing at Moody’s Down near Barton Stacey on
September 23, Basingstoke magistrates heard.
Gardner, 39, of Abraham Close, Botley, and Goddard, 43, of Winchester Street, Botley, both pleaded guilty to trespassing in pursuit of game, woodcock, snipe or rabbit.
Both men were each fined £320 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and prosecution costs of
£85. They were also disqualified from driving for 14 days.
A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied the charge and was remanded on
unconditional bail until January 17.
