Police find no trace of car accident after reports
POLICE were perplexed this morning after arriving at the scene of a reported car accident near Winchester to find no evidence it occurred.
Reports emerged a white Land Rover had crashed in a field off the A272 near Cheesefoot Head at around 8am.
But officers found no trace of the vehicle or any evidence of a crash when they arrived at the scene at 8.30am.
A spokesman said: “We received a report about this incident and officers went to the scene but did not find any vehicle.”
Hampshire Fire & Rescue confirmed they had no knowledge of the incident.
