THIS is what Sparsholt College’s new sports complex will look like when it is completed late next year.

The college is building a full size sports hall, climbing wall, gym, fitness suite and sprung floor dance studio over the next year.

It is part of a £5m-plus refurbishing project which also includes engineering workshops.

The purpose built climbing wall, which spans 20 metres and features over-hangs and ridges, will be one of the leading collegiate climbing facilities in Hampshire and will challenge climbers of all abilities.

Lawrence Blair, learning manager for sport, said: “This new complex will have a huge impact on the department. It will strengthen our already very strong Football Academy and our Outdoor Adventure provision whilst enabling all our sports students to train in a brand new facility, equipped with the latest fitness equipment and technology.

“I believe Sparsholt College will have the best college sporting facilities in the county.”

The new complex should be completed by October 2013 and follows recent other sporting improvements including a new dugout for the first team football pitch and £55,000 worth of new gym equipment.
