IT’S the bus that came back from the dead.
The 52-year-old Leyland Olympic served Winchester with King Alfred Buses until it was sold to Ireland.
Later it was tracked down and brought back, as a wreck in 1992, to be restored to its former glory, a process finally completed earlier this year.
The vehicle will be on display in the Broadway on Saturday December 15, a preview for the annual bus running day on January 1.
Friends of King Alfred Buses recreate the 1960s, a time of more extensive, ie better, bus services.
All rides are free. An illustrated souvenir programme, which can be purchased in advance by post (for £11 including postage) from FoKAB, 13 Ashley Close, Harestock, Winchester, SO22 6LR.
