HAMPSHIRE businesses are to benefit from a single, county-wide guide to thousands of companies.
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Hampshire County Council currently produce separate directories, but are joining forces to produce one annual document.
The 120-page guide will also have print and online formats providing detail on firms across all sectors.
Jimmy Chestnutt, chief executive of the Hampshire chamber, said: “We want to simplify the market by ensuring there is only one Hampshire business guide. Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Chamber currently have our own directories and it makes sense to combine them to make it easier for people to find the business services they need, knowing that the data is from a reliable source endorsed by both organisations.”
It is intended that the guide will be available by March 2013, when users will be able to find entries by name, location, sector, corporate description, turnover and number of employee number.
Councillor Ray Ellis, executive member for economic development, said: “Our aim is to create a product that will support business growth and prosperity by contributing to the promotion and marketing of business and to help businesses engage with one another.”
Tenders are invited for the print and design of the guide, and the construction of the online version.
