THIEVES have broken into a school and made off with hundreds of pounds in cash.
The burglary took place in the early hours of Thursday morning at Bishop’s Waltham Infant School.
The £450 stolen includes funds raised for Help for Heroes and improvements to the school.
It also included savings for the staff Christmas party, which must now be cancelled.
PC Jonathan Earnshaw, of Bishop’s Waltham police station, said: “This burglary has affected young children at the school and hard working staff.
“I’d like to speak to anyone with information about this incident. I’d also like to hear from anyone who can help us identify two men that were seen smoking outside of the school at around 9.30pm on Wednesday (November 28).”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Earnshaw at Bishop’s Waltham police station by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
