HEALTH chiefs unfairly dismissed a solicitor who worked at Winchester’s Royal Hampshire County Hospital, an employment tribunal heard yesterday.
Katrina Tanner’s job as deputy legal advisor was axed when Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust merged with Basingstoke hospital trust last year.
She applied for a new post of litigation solicitor but it went to a younger, external candidate.
Ms Turner accused Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust of age discrimination – a claim rejected by trust bosses.
The hearing at Southampton Employment Tribunal continues.
