INVESTIGATIONS have shown that lasers being shone at passenger planes are coming from the Boyatt Wood area of north Eastleigh.
Police have been called twice to reports that powerful green lights are being directed at aircraft flying over the Eastleigh area.
Fears have been raised that the lives of passengers and crew are being put at risk because the lasers are capable of causing glare in the cockpit and temporary “flash blindness”.
Police initially thought the lasers were coming from the south Hiltingbury area, but further inquiries have led them to an area north of Crestwood College, to the top of Allbrook Knoll and between the M3 and Twyford Road.
The incidents were in the early evening on Sunday and Monday.
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
