DOZENS of people were evacuated from a Winchester building this morning after a false fire alarm.
Hampshire Fire & Resuce were called to the Winchester Centre in St Georges Street after a fire alarm was set off in a kitchen.
A woman understood to work at the building also received ambulance treatment after falling over after leaving the building.
Crew manager Richard North said: “It was a lot of fuss over nothing really. Someone burnt their breakfast this morning and set off the alarm. Because the different parts of the centre are interlinked the alarms went off in all rooms and everyone had to leave.
“There is no fire and everything has been switched off so it will be over with very quickly."
