Parish council picks new chairman
A LONG-serving member of Kings Worthy Parish Council has been voted in as its new chairman.
Peter Warrener, who has been on the body for the last 10 years, was elected unopposed to head up the organisation at its annual general meeting on Monday (May 19) evening.
Speaking after the meeting at Kings Worthy Community Centre, Mr Warrener said: "I'm very, very happy and I just hope I can do justice to the council and I have just said to them other parish councillors I hope to run it as a team, with no politics involved."
Meanwhile Liz James was elected as the parish council's vice-chairman.
