Carousel will be the next WOS production
>AFTER the success of The Sorcerer, Winchester
Operatic Society are now preparing for their autumn show.
>The group will perform the Rogers and
Hammerstein classic musical Carousel at Winchester's Theatre Royal from Tuesday 11 -
Saturday 15 November.
>WOS last performed this show, with its central
theme of the bitter sweet love story between
characters Billie Bigelow and Julie Jordan, in 1995, to great acclaim.
>The show is packed with rousing numbers such as
June Is Bursting Out All Over as well as the
anthemic You'll Never Walk Alone.
>WOS are always on the look out for new members,
either as performers or members of the backstage
crew.
>The group is particularly looking for younger men.
>For anyone who is interested in joining WOS,
there will be an
information evening on Monday May 19 at 7.30pm,
at Western School, Browning Drive, Winchester.
>The director John Barlow and musical director Dereck Beck will be there to set out plans for Carousel.
