RM Auctions in association with Sotheby's broke records in their inaugural London sale of 85 cars.
Top lot was a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Spezial Roadster from the Bernie Ecclestone collection, which at £3,967,000 became the most expensive Mercedes-Benz road-going car ever sold at auction. A 1964 Ford Anglia Deluxe Saloon, also from the F1 supremo's collection, was bought for £5,588.
