THE definitive version of Jaguar's distinctively styled S-Type saloon has just gone on sale at H A Fox in Southampton. The new 2008 model year S-Type receives the same imposing front bumper usually reserved for the high performance S-Type R across the range, as well as a mesh grille intended to give the vehicle even greater street presence.
However, HA Fox is urging drivers to act quickly if they want to secure one, because it is likely to become a sought-after classic among discerning local drivers.
Chris Taylor, dealer principal at H A Fox Jaguar said: "We anticipate strong demand for what is the ultimate S-Type. This latest model is the last evolution of the S-Type and it delivers a commensurate performance in engineering, refinement and dynamic handling terms.
"Since its launch in 1999 the Jaguar S-Type has been one of the leading models in the luxury saloon market - winning 40 national and international awards."
Beneath the S-Type's sleek exterior, new features for the 2008 model year include leather trim and automatic transmission as standard on the Spirit and XS versions.
While new exterior enhancements include the addition of the sporty 18in "Triton" wheel to the popular 3.0 litre V6 SE and the stunning 19in "Barcelona" wheel to S-Type R models.
Chris added: "The S-Type has long been the benchmark for mid-range luxury saloons and these new additions further enhance its desirability while offering outstanding value."
The S-Type range starts at £28,995 for the 3.0 litre V6 Spirit, whilst the refined twin turbo 2.7 litre diesel Spirit is available from just £29,995 and the flagship 4.2 litre supercharged S-Type R starts from £45,000.
