Line Of Duty’s Daniel Mays and Sherlock actress Sian Brooke have been added to the star-studded cast of Amazon Prime Video’s forthcoming series Good Omens.

The six-part series is based on the comedy novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman about the birth of Satan, and previously announced cast members include David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jack Whitehall and Miranda Richardson.

Also newly-announced is young actor Sam Taylor Buck, who will play reluctant antichrist Adam Young.

Mays and Brooke will play Adam’s accidental parents Arthur and Deidre.

Mays said: “Beyond overjoyed to be jumping on board Good Omens.

“It’s not every day you get to play the father of the antichrist! Neil Gaiman’s scripts are out of this world and the cast they’ve assembled are second to none. Can’t wait to get cracking!”

Brooke said: “I’m thrilled to be part of this fantastic adaptation of Good Omens and working with such a great team of cast and creatives.

“It’s certainly going to be an adventure playing the unknowing mother of the antichrist!”

Good Omens, a joint venture between Amazon Prime Video and the BBC, began shooting in London earlier this week, with Sheen and Tennant seen on set in character as an angel and a demon who are not enthusiastic about the end of the world.

The duo have lived among mortals since The Beginning and are not very happy about the upcoming Apocalypse ruining their status quo.

The series will be directed by Douglas Mackinnon, who has worked on Doctor Who, Outlander and the Emmy-winning Victorian episode of Sherlock, The Abominable Bride.
