The X Factor judges have been given a digital upgrade for 2015 – as seen in the new trailer for the show.
The advert – which will premiere on ITV tonight (Monday, August 3) at 7.30pm just before Coronation Street – goes undercover at the X Factor laboratory, where the latest technology is being used to give the talent show panel a hi-tech make-over for the new series.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been cloned into multiple robots to suit every possible situation.
New X Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs visit the lab to try to find out the secret formula behind the show where they discover hundreds of Chez-bots. The “emotional” clone says monotonously: “I know exactly what you’re going through pet.”
Radio 1 DJ and new judge Nick Grimshaw is fitted with a special microchip to help him give constructive feedback. But in an apparent dig at former judge Louis Walsh, Nick is accidentally given an out-of-date chip, which makes him repeat: “You look like a popstar, you sound like a popstar.”
Meanwhile, other new panel member Rita Ora is sent to contestant feedback training.
And Caroline and Olly decide to scan Simon Cowell to see what he is thinking.
As they scan his mind Simon brags: “I’ve already found this year’s winner. It’s a group. Girls are going to love them, boys are going to love them, bigger than One Direction!”
He then reveal his two dogs, Squiddly and Diddly, singing along to Westlife’s You Raise Me Up.
The X Factor will return to ITV in the autumn.
