Ringo Starr will join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight with fellow Beatle Sir Paul McCartney doing the honours of introducing him on stage.

Both men are already members as part of the Fab Four, but Ringo’s induction will mean each of them are also entered individually.

The drummer, who just released a new album called Postcards From Paradise, was the first member of the band to really establish a solo career after the Beatles split in 1970 releasing two albums before the end of the year.

He scored a top five hit in 1971 with It Don’t Come Easy, before getting to number two a year later with Back Off Boogaloo.
