The Who have had to postpone a pair of major greatest hits shows at London’s O2 Arena after frontman Roger Daltrey was ordered to rest by doctors.
The singer is suffering from a throat infection and has been advised to take a break, which has meant shows due to take place tomorrow and Thursday have been put back to March of next year.
The rock act have suggested that the shows over the coming months on their Who Hits 50 tour could be their last major live shows.
A spokesman for the group said: “On medical advice, singer Roger Daltrey has been ordered to rest his voice due to a throat infection.
“The band and their management wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused.”
The Who’s postponed concerts will instead take place on March 22 and 23. They also have a huge outdoor show lined up in Hyde Park on June 26 as part of the Barclaycard Presents British Summertime events with Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Marr also on the bill.
