Coronation Street bosses have reportedly signed deals with two of the soap’s regular stars to keep them in the soap after the exit of two of its big names.
According to the Daily Mirror, Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) and Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) have had their contracts renewed for at least another 12 months.
A show source was quoted as saying: “Brooke loves it on the soap and is very happy. Before signing on for another year she met with bosses and her character has some great storylines coming up.”
Alison King and Craig Charles both announced that they were leaving last week.
ITV have insisted Alison will be back on Corrie and that she is taking a sabbatical.
Craig is leaving to focus his efforts on a new series of Red Dwarf.
Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price) and Jennie McAlpine (Fiz) are also signed up until the middle of 2016, the newspaper said.
Amy Kelly (Maddie Heath) announced she was leaving earlier this year.
Jimi Mistry (Kal Nazir) and Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea Beckett) have also announced in recent months that they are leaving the soap.
One of the soap’s biggest names – Michelle Keegan – bowed out last year.
