Jennifer Saunders, Jack Dee and the Chuckle Brothers are set to inject some humour into Josh Widdicombe’s new sitcom as special guests.
The Absolutely Fabulous star will portray the mother of Josh’s flatmate Kate (played by Beattie Edmondson), who finds herself as the object of unwanted advances by landlord Geoff (Jack Dee) in new BBC Three show Josh.
Funnymen Barry and Paul Chuckle, Josh’s Taskmaster mate Romesh Ranganathan and James Acaster will also make cameos in the comedy.
The six-episode series, written by Josh and Tom Craine, has been commissioned after a successful pilot for the BBC’s Comedy Feed in 2014.
It follows frustrated, single and grumpy Josh, who dreams of a quiet life, despite living with his flatmates Kate and Owen (Elis James).
Josh will begin on BBC Three in November.
